The beautiful resort of La Manga Club is set into the Murcian hills nestled on the edge of the clear blue Mediterranean. This five star resort has it’s own private cove, La Cala, which can be accessed via the slopes of the mountainous terrain by car. It is small and private and perfect for a day on the beach in the glorious Murcian sunshine.

La Manga Club’s popular fish restaurant, also called La Cala, can be found at the very bottom of the hills and if you make a booking transport is complimentary. With a great menu with locally sourced fish it is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner or lunch as it overlooks the Mediterranean. It is open seasonally generally May until late September or early October.

The La Manga Beach is very picturesque but if you have young children and are looking for long stretches of sandy beaches then you need not travel too far as there are several local beaches with great beaches perfect for a day with bucket and spades.

The La Manga del Mar Menor Inlet is a strip of land which is twenty one metres long and three hundred metres wide and it is a ten minute drive from La Manga Club. It is a long stretch of land which separates the Mediterranean sea from the Mar Menor (small sea) and has the tranquil Mediterranean on one side and the cooler Atlantic on the other. Because of such shallow waters on the Mediterranean side it makes the perfect place to head with the children for a paddle and walks along the sandy beach and promenade. There are many cafes and restaurants so it makes for a perfect day off resort if you feel like a change of scene.

You can also find within a ten minute drive the Calblanque National Park. It is a wild beach and nature reserve so please remember that it has no facilities as such therefore you need to take everything with you for a day out but the long sandy beach and clear water are beautiful. If you want to experience nature and a clean safe beach in a totally unspoilt area then pack a picnic and spend the day at Calblanque.

Mar de Cristal is also on the edge of the tranquil, warm Mar Menor and is also unspoilt and generally very popular with locals. You will find cafés and places to eat along the water front. Again this is no more than a ten minute drive away from La Manga Club.
